#Myth: Bite the gold to check its authenticity

But remember, lead is softer than this precious metal. You may be gullied if you blindly follow this technique to test its purity. Lead may be painted in golden colour and you may be easily deceived.

Yellow gold is the real one and red and even white coloured gold are gold alloys. They are actually made by blending pure gold along with iron, platinum, silver or other metals. Gold is yellow and that’s the pure one.
#Myth: Investment for only 23 or 24 Karat Gold is profitable
Gold jewelleries weighing 18 or 14 karat seem to be worth investing. They too have high resale value and they also yield return though they happen to be lower than that of 23 or 24 karat gold. Gold is always valuable and worthy of investment.
#Myth: Use toothpaste to clean gold or diamond jewelleries
When you have cleaned your gold wedding ring with toothpaste it might have sparkled just like the new one for the first time. But have you ever thought of what the chemicals in toothpaste would do to this priceless piece? If you choose to clean your gold ring with toothpaste you may see its glow initially. But what would happen after sometime? You gold ring will lose its sparkle and colour after three to four washes. Plus, if it has gem stone on it then toothpaste will damage it.
