Is your gold ring a real one? Find it out yourself

Wondering whether gold ring you are wearing is the real one or not. No need to go to a jewellery shop to test it. You can test it on your own. Make use of devices or ingredients you already use at home. Guys, testing authenticity of gold is as easy as a pie. The task is interesting too. Here are a few tips you should follow to check out your gold ring’s authenticity.
test your gold ring

Clean it first

Rub your gold ring with a clean, white cloth and remove dust or any other contaminants. Check out if grease, oil or any sticky item is found on its surface. If you can find it out, you must get hold of a wet cloth to scrub it fast. You should not make any kind of delay.

Use a dropper!

Search your medical kit and find out eye dropper from there. Go to the kitchen and take out your vinegar bottle. You need to put at least three to four drops of cooking vinegar on the gold item. Is your ring a curvy one? Make sure you first put the gold ring inside a bowl and put little bit of vinegar in it. Make sure the ring is dipped inside the vinegar for quite a few seconds.

See the change

Observe closely if there is any change in gold ring. It is vital to remember that gold is stable metal and it fails to react to oxidation process. As a result, this stable metal does not change its own color while exposed to high quality vinegar. If your gold ring changes its color, then you should be alert. If it changes color, then it should not be a real gold. Gold plated item can turn black due exposure of vinegar.
